EUROPE TRIP – 3RD JUNE – 19TH JUNE 2011
It’s been more than a week since i got back from my europe trip, and i’m totally missing it. The culture, probably not so much, but the weather, food (except the bread), gorgeous and breath-taking architectures with extremely rich history, sceneries and so so much more – gosh i cant wait to return there next january! Sorry for the slow update both here and on facebook, apart from the slowness of my internet as well as my laptop; i’ve been really busy as well. Currently i’m on an attachment at a secondary school for my MOE scholarship – and it’s depriving me of my long hours of sleep!
Anyways, i wanna publicise this particular show, THE VOICE. An amazing singing competition with great talents and big voices! The judges are Christina Arguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton. Really great show but sadly it’s only 12 episodes long, but do catch it!
Back to Paris!
After about 17 hours of flight journey, including a three hour transit in Dubai, we are finally in PARIS! It was just exciting but terribly tired because of the overnight flight.
Here is our amazing apartment, Adagio City Aparthotel Tour Eiffel (15 mins walk away from the Tower!); located in a pretty central place with full view of the Eiffel Tower; never imagined waking up to see the Eiffel Tower right infront of me!
On the way to the Eiffel Tower!
The Eiffel Tower is the tallest structure in Paris, and one of the most recognisable icon in the world. The tower was named after its designer, Gustave Eiffel and was constructed as the entrance arch to the 1889 world’s fair. The Eiffel tower stands at 1,063ft tall, almost the height of an 80 storey building.
It was a waste that we didnt get to climb the eiffel; not even the first storey ): due to time constraint and the the insane number of tourists there during our three night stay in Paris. Oh well, if i ever return to Paris, i’ll definitely go up to the third storey!
A tourist doing the eiffel tower pose!
Beautiful horse with extremely fluffy legs!
The waiter who served us during our dinner!
One interesting fact about dining in Europe is, unlike in Singapore where we commonly face each other while dining; people there often sit outside(perhaps due to the nice cool weather) and they do not face each other while having their meals; and every place serves BREAD and water is pretty precious there.
French Onion Soup! – Dre’s favourite; a must have for almost every meal during our stay in France.
The plant building!
The best part about summer in Europe, or anywhere else near the poles, is that you get longer days where you can accomplish so much more! In these pictures, it was about 930pm in Europe but it feels like 6 plus in the evening back home.
River Seine. A major river and commerical water-way in France. It is approximately 776km long and consists of over 300 bridges within Paris as well as dozens more outside the city.
